During Don's move his cats have been staying with me. Picture this: 4 adult felines and 1 adult human in a 1 bedroom 1 bath 659 sq. ft. apartment.
This has been very entertaining as we each have a male and a female. The two females: Buto and Annie were vying for the alpha female position the whole time. This included a lot of hissing and growling. The two males: Fezzik and Flex were hanging out an only reacted when their respective female reacted.
Annie and Fezzik are the skittery ones and Flex and Buto are the bold ones. Annie spent the majority of her time under the bed and only came out for the occasional bathroom break and to grab a bite. Fezzik, Buto and Flex all wandered freely, but were cautious around each other.
For the couple of nights they were here I had rotating cats on my bed throughout the night. At any given time there were 1 to 4 cats on the bed in various combinations. I could usually tell who was there by the presence or lack of hissing and growling. They all have wonderful personalities and flop in the most adorable ways. Flex definitely wins the cutest: he just walks up rubs against you and drops with a slight meow.
Don cam by a while ago to take them home. He had told me that Annie had been difficult to get into the carrier, but I had no idea. She is FREAKISHLY strong and can maneuver out of a neck hold. She managed to shred Don's arm in a couple of places.
After they left, my cats collapsed and haven't moved since. I wonder if Don's are doing the same or if they are so excited about there new place that they can't sleep.
